How Scribbly Baseball Cards Are Made

The whole thing takes about 20 seconds of your effort before you're looking at your kid's card art. Here's every step between "I have a photo" and "there's a sealed foil pack with their name on it" — what you do, what we do, and where you stay in control (short version: everywhere; nothing prints until you approve it).

The steps

Eight steps, one big reveal

    🧢 Pick your pack

    You: choose standard or holographic, and how many packs. Pricing is right there — $39 to $199, no surprises later.

  2. 2

    ✍️ Add player details

    You: name, team and jersey number — the three facts that go on the card plate. Takes longer to buckle a batting glove.

  3. 3

    📸 Upload one photo

    You: one clear photo. See the photo tips below — but honestly, if you can see their face, we can draw their card.

  4. 4

    🧾 Personalize the back

    You (optional): the stats side takes a player spotlight, favorite moment, strengths and a fun fact. Skip any of them; the back still looks finished.

    🎨 We illustrate

    Us: your photo becomes original card artwork — a full-bleed illustrated portrait in our stadium style. Your free preview appears in about 20 seconds.

  6. 6

    ✏️ Tweak until it's them

    You + us: tell us changes in plain English — "bigger smile", "more dirt on the pants" — and we re-illustrate. 3 free re-illustrations per photo; a new photo resets the count. Every draft is saved, so you can print any version you liked best.

    ✅ Approve and order

    You: nothing goes to the printer until you approve the art. Checkout is Shopify-secure — Apple Pay, Shop Pay, PayPal. If you hit the tweak limit and still don't love it, we refund you before it prints.

  8. 8

    📦 Printed in the USA, then the rip

    Us: your cards are printed on premium trading-card stock by our Wisconsin production partner, sealed in a foil wrapper printed with your player's name, boxed if you added the display box, and shipped. Most orders arrive in about 3–5 weeks all-in — your exact estimate shows in the builder, and rush production cuts the make time to days.

Photo tips

The photo does the heavy lifting

The illustration is drawn from what you send. Five tips that make the art land on the first try:

  • Face clearly visible — front-on or three-quarter view beats a profile or a helmet shadow.
  • Good light — daylight or a bright room; avoid heavy backlight.
  • Recent photo — kids change fast; last season's face is last season's card.
  • No heavy filters — send the unedited original, not the one with the sparkle effect.
  • Uniform if you have it — great for the vibe, completely optional. Any clothes work; the artwork puts them in the scene.

If the first photo doesn't work, swapping in a new one is free and resets your re-illustration count.

Privacy, briefly

Your photo stays yours

Uploaded photos are used to create your card artwork — that's it. We never share or publish a customer photo without written permission, and you can request deletion any time via support. The samples on this site are illustrated demo designs. More in the FAQ.
